Steven Blaine Griffith Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1957 - 2008 Steven Blaine Griffith - 1957-2008 Steven Blaine Griffith, 50, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, June 16, 2008, from injuries he received in an automobile accident. Mr. Griffith was born Oct. 24, 1957, in Ashland, a son of Ruth Griffith Russell of Ashland and the late Clifton Griffith. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Griffith. He was a landscaper and a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland. Additional survivors include a son, Jacob Griffith of Ashland; a brother, David Bruce Griffith and wife Lee of Versailles, Ky.; a stepbrother, Robert Russell and wife Tawnee of Versailles; a sister, Jennifer Griffith of Mount Vernon, Ky.; and a special friend, Kathy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Steven will be dearly missed by his loving family and a host of friends. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Ronnie Mayes. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call after 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Condolences may be sent to www.steenfuneralhomes.com.

Ruth, I was shocked to see obit for Steve. I remember how cute he was when he would come to our house (owned by Mr Blanton) and say " you can take me with you if you want, just put me in the car and I will go with you". We have often thought of you all and the kindness you showed to young newlyweds.

Steve was a very good natured person who always smiled and had something postive to say everytime I was around him. He will be deeply missed. God bless you, Jacob, during this time. Steve offered open arms and smiling eyes with each visit I made to Ashland. His big heart and kind soul showed through with every conversation we shared. That will be how I remember this son, brother, father, uncle, friend.....all are in my prayers.
