Jane and Mr. Dobbins,
I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you all in my prayers in the days and weeks to come. I have forgotten much since our time together in sixth grade, but your mother's graciousness and the way you made her smile I will remember always. May the Lord keep you and comfort you, and may you always see her love for you in the little things.

I am incredibly sorry sorry for your loss. I was blessed to have had Mrs. Dobbins for English my eigth grade year. That was the year that my parents divorced, and I was often very sad and angry. Yet when I went to to her class everything was ok. I felt safe and loved in her presence. She has made an incredible impact on my life, as well as many others. I will be praying for you at this time.

Dear Dobbins Family,
I was so sad to hear this news. Mrs. Dobbins was a wondeful teacher. She was my homeroom teacher the first year I moved to Russell. She made me feel so welcome. Each morning she greated her class with that big smile and excitement in her voice. You knew she loved teaching. She touched many lives through her life's calling. My thought and prayers are with you during this time of great sorrow.

My deepest sympathy to Mr. Dobbins and to Jane. Judy was such a fine teacher and always a kind and loyal co-worker. The most fitting word to describe her is "class." The absolute epitome of class and kindness. We will miss you Judy and no one can ever replace you.

Ed, I'm so sorry for your tremendous loss. Judy was the sweetest person I've ever met. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. Usually when I saw Judy she was stopping by the office with sweets to sweeten our dispositions too. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. I know you and your family are hurting inside right now but just remember all the good things, I'm sure that is what she would want. If you need anything just let me know. Love, Lisa and Family

Dear Family: My heart goes out to you Ed, and to you Jane. Ed, I had the pleasure of meeting your wife about four years ago while at a dinner for H&R Block, last year I talked to her at the office very closely for quite awhile. I left the office that day and thought about her and what a lovely person she was, if only I could be that cheerful and pleasant all the time as she was. We discussed how you say the funniest things, then we talked about Jane for awhile, I could tell how much she loved the both of you. And Ed, I know that you truly loved her. I feel I was blessed to be aquainted with her. If there is anything I can do please, don't hesitate. My thoughts and prayers are with the both of you.
Love, Gerri Prince

Mrs. Dobbins was my 7th Grade English teacher and she made a great impact on my life. I didn't much care for diagramming sentences, but only Mrs. Dobbins could make it fun. I work now work in a Library partly thanks to her impact on my education. She was a wonderful teacher, she had an incredible enthusiasm for education, and her attitude definitely reflected on her students. I am better off today for having had Mrs. Dobbins in school.
My deepest sympathy to the Dobbins family and the Russell community. May God grant you peace in this difficult time.

When I think of the teachers that made an impact on my life, I remember Judy Dobbins. She was always so positive and helpful, and she was completely genuine. As I follow in her footsteps as a Russell Middle School teacher, I hope to have as much positive influence on the lives of my students as she had on mine. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Dobbins was my senior English teacher in 1989. She was a hard as nails teacher, so very smart and kind to all her students. She made me love the English language and literature. It is so sad that she left us so early! She will be missed!

I was so very saddened this morning to read in my Lexington newspaper that Judy passed away. Judy was my first very best friend, from first grade through fifth grade. I lived on Kenwood Drive during that time and we were constant companions, playing often with David and Frank. I also "grew up" to be a teacher in Fayette County and retired after 31 years. She was a beautiful person and a wonderful friend, and I am a better person for having known her. May God bless each of you.
