Ann Marie Best Hammond Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1941 - 2008 Ann Hammond - 1941-2008 Ann Marie Best Hammond, 66, of Wurtland, formerly of Greenup, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, in Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 9, 1941, in Norfolk, Va., the daughter of the late Offie and Esther Watson Best. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James Russell Hammond. She was of the Christian faith and a clerical worker in Naval Supply for the Department of the Navy in Norfolk. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, David and Judy Best of Virginia; nephews John and Larry Best of Virginia; a brother-in-law and his wife, Bob and Garnet Hammond of Ashland; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Phillip Zimmerman. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to www.steenfuneralhomes.com.
