Gary Douglas - 1963-2008

Gary Douglas, 44, of Russell, Ky., died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

He was born Nov. 9, 1963, in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of Robert and Nicole Wishaupt Douglas of Kansas City, Mo.

He was a locomotive electrician with CSX in Russell, a member of IBEW Local 940 and attended RHEMA Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Okla. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Additional survivors include his wife, Teresa Crowe Douglas of Russell; two sons, Graham Douglas and Trever Douglas, both at home; a daughter, Brianna Douglas at home; and two brothers, Jimmy Douglas and Claude Douglas, both of Lees Summit, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Russell by Pastor Ken Gowin and Pastor Phil Fannin. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Steen Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, c/o the Douglas family, 901 Ashland Drive, Russell, KY 41169.

Dear Trever, I knew your dad from the time he was just ten years old. He was always so nice, very smart, and a really good person. I'm sorry God called him away from you so soon. I have no doubt that he fathered three really great kids. My best wishes and prayers go to you and you brother and sister.

JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW GARY WAS ONE OF OUR FAVORITE PATIENTS. NO MATTER HOW BAD HE FELT HE WOULD ALWAYS SMILE AND MAKE US SMILE. HE LOVED HIS CHEETOS AND I REMEMBER WHEN I BROUGHT HIM IN A BAG AFTER HAVING A DAY OFF. HE WAS A VERY SPECIAL MAN TO US..HE WILL BE MISSED BY US ALL...
