Mary Frances Caldwell Berry, 89, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Berry was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Charleston, W.Va., a daughter of the late George Washington and Antonia Bennett Caldwell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Cyril Fleming Berry, who predeceased her in 2006, and three sisters.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are a son, William Everett (Jimmie Lynne) Berry of Flatwoods, Ky.; two daughters, Demaris Evelyn (Bernard) Smith of Kingsport, Tenn., and Elizabeth Ann (Harold) Summers of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren Robin Lynn Price of Bluff City, Tenn., Karen Ann Hawkins of Orlando, Fla., Roy Lee Smith of Frisco, Texas, Rebecca Susan Berry of Flatwoods, Debra Ann (Fred) Berry of Pataskala, Ohio, Robert Edward (Jill) Summers of Pataskala, Steven Dale (Monica) Summers of Columbus and Bobbi Jo Smith of Kingsport; and great-grandchildren Kayla Berry, Anthony (Lindsey) Berry, Jimmy Summers, Nicholas Summers, Michelle Summers, Kevin Summers, Kimberly Hawkins, Bret Hawkins, Ethan Price and Alexandra Price.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Don Young. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

What a lovely picture of Cyril & Frances. We will miss them both. We didn't visit often but we kept in contact thru the years. Love, your cousin.

Mrs. Berry must have been a wonderful lady. She left a great legacy in the wonderful family she left here on earth.

What a great picture of your parents... I remember so many good times with your family in Spring Hill, and Morgantown WV, as well as reunions and get togethers in Ashland KY. Your Mother and Dad both are a part of my childhood memories that I treasure. Lots of hugs, smiles, and great cooking were part of those visits, and of course picture taking.
