Anna Workman (1924-2008)
Anna C. Workman, 84, of Ashland, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland following a short illness.
She was born March 31, 1924, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Louis and Mary Ellen Bruger Traugott. She was the widow of Edsel R. E.R. Workman, who died in 2002.
She was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and a graduate of Ashland High School. She had worked at G.C. Murphys and Community Foodland and was a devoted homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Debbie Vincent and her husband, John Vincent; a brother, James Elwood Traugott and his wife, Helen, of Ashland; a sister, Sara Traugott Goble of Ashland; two grandchildren, Daniel Luke Vincent and Matthew Blake Vincent, both of Ashland; nieces Cathy Goble, Linda Porter, Jan Goble and Tammy Hall, all of Ashland; nephews Danny Traugott and Mike Traugott, both of Ashland; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home- Central Avenue Chapel by Dr. Ronnie Mayes and the Rev. Charles E. Stewart. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
