
Deborah Charlene Lorimer - 1956-2008
Deborah Charlene Lorimer, age 52, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday morning, Nov. 19, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 12, 1956, in Mansfield, Ohio, a daughter of Mangeline Spencer Fields of Ashland and the late Charles Fields.
She had worked as a fingerprint technician for the FBI in Washington, D.C., and as supervisor for the Department of Transportation for the state of Wyoming.
She was a member of the Community of Christ Church (RLDS) in Ironton, Ohio. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, family member and friend who throughout her life led by example with her strong faith, touching lives wherever she went. She had a great love for the outdoors especially the Rocky Mountains and wildlife.
Additional survivors include two sons, Joshua (Courtney Scott) Lorimer and Denver Lorimer, all of Ashland; a brother, Samuel (Lynn) Fields of Prichard, W.Va.; sisters, Connie (Bill) Hiles of Chula Vista, Calif., Garnet (Larry) Shears of Mansfield, Linda (Mitch) Goble of Fort Gay, W.Va., and Elizabeth Fields of Ashland; two grandchildren, Elijah Scott-Lorimer and Piper Scott-Lorimer; her best friend, Shreda Gorum of Fort Gay; her four-legged companion, Chi and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008 at the Community of Christ Church (RLDS) on Ellison Avenue in Ironton with the Elder Samuel Fields, Elder Lynn Fields, Elder Garnet Shears, Priest Linda Goble and Evangelist Michael Whitehead. Musical accompaniment will be by Elder Sharon Whitehead.
Debbie desired her ashes to be scattered in Grand Teton National Park.
Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
In omission of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her memory to the Elijah and Piper Scott-Lorimer Scholarship Fund, c/o National City Bank.
