Georgia Salyers 1923-2008
Georgia May Salyers, 85, of Ashland died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. She was born March 28, 1923, in Carter County, daughter of the late Shelby and Eva Austin Gollihue. Her husband, Robert Salyers, survives. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
She also was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Ruth Rice of Catlettsburg; one daughter, Loretha Walker of Flatwoods; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at noon Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home, 13th Street Chapel, with Pastor James Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
