Philip H. Lyon - 1917-2009
Philip H. Lyon, 91, of Ashland, Ky., died March 25, 2009, in Kings Daughters Medical Center.
He was born May 13, 1917, at Barn Rock, Ky., a son of the late Forest L. and Bessie Fyffe Lyon.
He was retired from the masonary department of Armco Steel Corp. where he worked for 39 years. He was a member of Ashland First Church of the Nazarene and was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Jordan Lyon of St. Augustine, Fla., with whom he would have celebrated their 70th anniversary on June 1; a son, Ronald H. Lyon and wife Claudia of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a daughter, Doris R. Neider and husband Larry of St. Augustine; and grandchildren Stacy Tucker and husband Kyle of Mooresville, N.C., Bethany Adams of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jennifer Adams of Rockville, Md.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Richard Butch Kiger, minister. Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009, at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
