Marie B. Chandler - 1922-2009
Marie B. Chandler, 86, of Columbus, formerly of Ashland, died Saturday in Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus.
She was born Oct. 17, 1922, at River, the daughter of the late Glen and Cindy Brown. She was the widow of Joe B. Chandler. She was a retired telephone operator and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Chandler; two brothers, Randall Brown and James Brown; and a sister, Mae Green.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael D. and Mary Chandler of Columbus; two brothers, Thurman Brown and Herbert Brown; two grandchildren, Teresa Fortner and her husband, Craig, and Tiffany Chandler; and three great-grandchildren, Luke Fortner, Abigail Fortner and Ryan Fortner.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Troy Poff. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
