Lucille Crum Vance (1922-2009)
Lucille Crum Vance, 87, of Ashland, Ky., died June 28, 2009, in Jo Lin Nursing Home in Ironton, Ohio, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Vance was born March 7, 1922, in Lawrence County, Ky., a daughter of the late Henry and Nancy Skeens Crum.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grover S. Vance, on Dec. 13, 1976; brothers Charles, Mike, John, Carl and Harry Wise Crum; and grandchildren Charles Roger Clifford and Michael Harding Vance.
She was a homemaker and a sales clerk for Hills Department Store for 10 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ashland and Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son, G. Scott Vance of Ashland; a daughter, Peggy Vance Green of Ashland; grandchildren Nancy (Todd) Crumpton of Catlettsburg, Ky., Hilary Vance Caudill (Andy) of Ashland, Courtney Harding Vance of San Diego, Calif., and Blake C. Vance of Ashland; and great-grandchildren Thomas Livingston and Kara and Chase Crumpton.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today, June 30, 2009, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Dennis Strawn. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home.
