William Richard Fosson, Jr.William Rick Fosson Jr. (1949-2009)

William Richard Rick Fosson Jr., 60, of Ashland died Friday at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, W.Va. He was born Jan. 3, 1949, in Ashland, the son of the late William Richard and Mazie Steen Fosson. He was a bricklayer with Local 7 of Ashland and was a member the Kentucky National Guard. He also was a member of the Elks B.P.O.E. 350; the American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, W.Va.; the Ashland Moose Lodge. Rick had a love of the outdoors and he spent much time at the cabin that he built in Grayson and he had a place at Lake Cumberland.

Survivors include one son, Richard Aaron Fosson and his wife, Christi, of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; and two grandsons, Chandler Aaron Fosson and Trevor Aaron Fosson.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Steen Funeral Home, 13th Street Chapel, in Ashland. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

I occasionally check the Independent for news from home - I live in Delaware now. I saw Rick's obit. I am Lyle Click's daughter - he was in Local 7 for many years. Sorry to hear of your loss. Guess they are together laying many bricks in heaven. My prayers are with you all.

Sorry for the pasing of your father. I had worked with your grandfather and dad while I was at Bank of Ashland and then Fifth Third.I know he was very proud of his son and grandsons. Mike Hobbs
