Gertrude "Trudy" Clevenger - 1921-2009
Gertrude "Trudy" Clevenger, 88, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, in St. Marys Medical Center following a sudden illness.
She was born in Boyd County, Ky., on Feb. 22, 1921, the daughter of the late James Ellis and Virgie Osborne Ramsey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Marion Clevenger, in 1972; a brother, Charles Ramsey; and a sister, Virginia Wright.
Gertrude was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Ashland and a homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Danny Clevenger of Glendale, Ariz.; a daughter, Cheryl Clevenger Spanagel and husband Ned of Bloomer, Wis.; and three grandsons, Mark Spanagel of Plymouth, Minn., Charles Michael Clevenger (Michelle) of Tampa, Fla., and Danny Clevenger Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Chaplain Dale Maddy. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
