I grew up with James we were neighbors. All the kids were very close and had lots of fun. He and his brother Hershell planned a reunion with all the neighborhood that grew up together two years ago. I am so glad that I got to see James. He never changed he was still the smiling James I remember as kids. I was blessed to have known such a great guy.He will be sadly missed by all. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Jim was a friend - a person that I had a tremendous amount of trust in. It seems like every time I was down, even though he was down too, he knew how to heal me. I'm extremely sorry for your loss. It is ours as well.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I worked with Jim in Nuclear Security at Fermi and he was well known for his sense of humor and easy going attitude. I remember Jim saying during training, "Use Tennessee windage & Kentucky elevation." Jeff Schmidt Monroe Mi

Jim was my supervisor (Lieutenant)in Security at Fermi in the 80's. Jim epitomized what we now refer to as Core Values at Fermi. I can best describe Jim as a Southern Gentleman who was respected by all of us. One day when Jim was holding a Shift Briefing someone spoke some profanity and Jim immediately said, "Hush, we will not have that type of language used during our morning briefing" You could hear a pin drop. We all loved Jim.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of great sorry. I would like you to know that Jim was one of my first supervisors as I started my career at Fermi 2 (early 80's). He has been a role model to me as I am now a supervisor myself. He was the best supervisor I have ever had and for that I will always remember him. I will always remember the compassion he had for his people and the way he always lead by example. The world is a lessor place because of his leaving. My god bless you and give you strength. My prayers and thoughts are with the family and friends of Jim. I had the honor of working with Jim in Ashland,KY for 5 years. We shared many memories and I learned a great deal from him. Jim taught me much about civility, respect, being true to your country and beliefs and in essence made me a better person by crossing paths with this amazing individual. He always told me "we never know when it's our time..be ready.." I know that he was and that we will ALL see him again in Heaven. He is looking down on us now. I miss you Jim.

With the deepest of sympathy to the family and love ones of Jim, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the great fortune of knowing Jim as a trainer at the Fermi 2 Power Station. I filled his position in the training area when he left but could never fill his shoes. He will be missed. Art Austin, JSS Shield, Iraq

I worked many years with Jim at the Fermi 2 Nuclear Plant. We worked shift and also worked in the training area together. We became very good friends I think since we were both Viet Nam Vets and he didn't make fun of the Marines. Jim will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. God Bless.
