So Many Things I Don't Understand
By Mary E. McKinney
So many things in life are misunderstood
Some things bad but mostly good
When my body's ill and wrecked in pain
I wonder why I can't go back to youth again.
A heart attack, a stroke or worse than these
Other folks wouldnt even sneeze.
But, I for one don't understand why they hit
And take their toll; this I just don't get.
I've lived a life so sheltered from the world
No wrong doing not sins unfurled.
My life is written in the book of life above
All I've ever known is a life full of love.
Love everyone and make the smile
And I am happy all the while
I hate no one on this earth that I know
I pay my debts, all that I owe.
I still don't understand why these things hit
The answer to this mystery I just don't get
Why we must suffer and still go on and try
Do all things we can before we must die!
I have come close to making it to the other place
To meet my maker face to face
But, for some reason I cant understand
He walks with me and holds my hand.
His strength is what keeps me going on and on
through pain and suffering I feel Ive won
By the help of God I'll carry on here below
Until He calls and says it's time for me to go!
I love the Lord with all my heart and soul
My aim in life is to serve Him; it's my goal
He is my Savior, My all in all is He
My Lord, means all this world to me!
I love you Jesus with all my heart and soul!
