Pauline Spears Bowling (1915-2010)
Pauline Spears Bowling, 95, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, died Jan. 31, 2010, in Hill View Retirement Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born Jan. 15, 1915, in Catlettsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late John Wesley and Mary Alice Mitchell Spears.
In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Bowling, in 2006; a brother, Mitchell Spears; and four sisters, Mildred Spears, Dorothy Spurlock, Evelyn Spurlock and Jessie Regens.
She was a telephone operator and a member of Jehovahs Witnesses, the Pedro Garden Club, the Elizabeth Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Lawrence Furnace Homemakers.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cummins and husband Charles of Wheelersburg; and a brother, John Douglas Spears of Catlettsburg.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by brethren of the Wheelersburg Kingdom Hall.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 2, 2010, at the funeral home.
