
Rita G. Queen (1942-2010)
Rita G. Queen, 67, of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday morning, Feb. 21, 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
She was born July 15, 1942, in Ashland, to the late Delbert and Evelyn Stapleton Pruitt.
She was a retired National City Bank employee and formerly worked at Armco Steel. She was a member of Beech Street Christian Church, where she served as the Sunday school teacher for the toddler class. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Orville Edward Pruitt.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Carlos Queen of Ashland; a son, Dale Queen and his fianceƩ, Tanya Meadows, of Ashland; a sister, Shirley Hughes of Ashland; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Pruitt Davidson of Flatwoods; her devoted four-legged friend, Prissy; and a host of loving family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Ken Vaughn. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, at the funeral home chapel.
