I lived near Walt and Ruth for several years when they were in Clifton Forge, VA. My father, Robert Bowers did wiring jobs with Mr Rayburn. I remember Mr and Mrs Rayburn fondly and send my deepest sympathies to the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I want to express my sympathy for your loss in the death of Walt. Walt & I worked for the then C&O R.R. I was on his survey crew, my first year with the railroad. He taught me a lot & was a good boss. We had just recently exchanged email & am glad we had reconnected. Jedd

I loved Walter & Ruth Rayburn as much as family; and they will both continue to be part of my life though not in the same way. May God grant peace to all of the family and strengthen the spirit of each as well.

Our sincerest condolences and sympathy to all of you. I became an e-mail buddy of Walter's when Dorothy was still alive and Stan had his knee surgury, staying at Walter's. Walter has become a very Dear Friend. We just wish we could have met him. He always seemed to know when we needed inspirational e-mails or a good joke. He will be sorely missed .
