Nancy, Mary Jane and Beth and family, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all the family members and friends. I remember the numerous visits to Logan, especially the one summer I had burned the side of my foot just before a visit to stay at Nancy's, my cousin. I think I was about 6, maybe 7. Uncle Ray changed that dressing every night and made my summer vacation an enjoyable one;one which I would never forget, especially Nancy turning me on to "Rock around the Clock". He was a good man, a hard worker and a wonderful father and uncle. I don't think anyone who knew him will ever forget him or your family. I miss seeing all of my cousins. It's been too long!

It is great sadness that I feel with the passing of Mr. Raymond Carter. I worked for Mr. Carter at the A & P in Logan, WV, from 1960-63. Being my very first job, I was nervous and apprehensive, but Mr. Carter ALWAYS showed me kindness, putting my fears to rest, and I grew to love him as an employer. Without any doubt whatsoever, he was the BEST "boss" I ever had. As a youth, I knew even then that he was a SPECIAL person...and I kept that belief all through the years, and will continue to believe that for as long as I live. May Mr. Carter rest in peace, and I'm sure that he is, because he deserves it. God bless and comfort the family.

Nancy, Mary and Beth, Our hearts go out to you all at the loss of your father (my name sake). My memories of Uncle Ray remind me of the long trips to Logan (sometimes in the middle of the night) and his having to deal with the A&P flooding in the Spring. We miss you all and are sorry we cannot be there with you. Ruth and I will be sending a memorial to Community Hospice of Ashland. We love you all! Bill and Ruth
