1912 - 2010

Thursa MillerThursa "Tee" Miller (1912-2010)

Thursa "Tee" Miller, 98, of Fairfax Station, Va., formerly of Ashland, Ky., died Sunday morning, March 28, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Virginia.

She was born March 10, 1912, in Elliott County, Ky., a daughter of the late Osceola and Sena Greene Pennington. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, William B. Miller, in 1997; and two sons at birth, Billie David Miller and Michael Miller.

She was a devoted homemaker. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith and had been a Sunday school teacher and taught flannel graph to the entire church. She had no greater desire than for her children and grandchildren to walk with the Lord. She loved the Lord and was thrilled she was a child of the King. She closed each day with Bible in hand and shared Christs love with everyone she met.

Surviving are a daughter Vicki Nellis and husband Jim of Fairfax Station, VA; sister Goldie Marie McVay of California; grandchildren Nicole Cockrell and her husband Keith of Burke, Va., and James Nellis II of Alexandria, Va.; and great-grandchildren Max and Saige Cockrell.

A graveside service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland officiated by her grandson, James Nellis II.

Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions are suggested to Immanuel Bible Church, 6911 Braddock Road, Springfield, VA 22151.

Condolences may be sent to www.steenfuneralhomes.com.
