
Donald Earl Leidecker, age 75, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Gilmer, Texas, a son of the late Don and Gladys Goolsby Leidecker.
He retired from Baker Tool Co., attended White Oak School System in White Oak, Texas and graduated in 1951. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a retired colonel from the National Guard, a computer enthusiast and a member of the Lions Club in Graham, Texas.
He was married to Margie Johnson Scott Leidecker of Ashland. Other survivors include a son, Mike Leidecker and wife, Donna of Branson, Mo.; stepsons, BT Scott of Ashland, Steve (Christine) Scott of Greenup County, Ky., and Mark Kevin (Barbie) Scott of Ashland; a daughter, Donna Atkins and husband Tracey of Longview, Texas; brother, Gary Leidecker and wife Bev of Longview; a sister, Margaret Weathersby and husband Bill of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Kara Leidecker, Bart Leidecker and Will Leidecker; stepgrandchildren, Hunter Cyrus, Payton Scott, Austin Scott, Kennedy Scott and Landon Scott; and close lifelong friends, Clyde Nixon and Clarence Whited.
The funeral will be at 7 p.m. today, May 8, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland with the service officiated by Mike Leidecker.
