ASHLAND Myrtle Pauline Edwards Hammes, 97, of Ashland, Ky., died April 29, 2010, in Boyd County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 23, 1913, in Charlevoix, Mich., a daughter of the late John and Ollie Newell Edwards.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hammes was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. Hammes; brothers Lawrence, Aura, Karl and Merle Edwards; and sisters Alma Weinbrenner, Lois Caulley and Dorothy Bennett.
She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland.
Surviving are a brother, Kermit Edwards of Ohio, and several special nieces and nephews whom she adored.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, at First United Methodist Church in Ashland by the Rev. Guy Moyer. Private burial was in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio, on May 3, 2010.
