
Lula Boots Green, 89, of Ashland, Ky., died Thursday morning, June 24, 2010, in Boyd Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. She was born July 9, 1920, in Bourbon County, Ky., to the late Edward Clay and Belle Bishop Boots. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oakie S. Green, in 1983.
She was a devoted homemaker and was a Girl Scouts of America Leader and Kings Daughters Medical Center Volunteer. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland, Aglow, Handycraft Club, United Methodist Women and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Green (Raymond) Stephens of Ashland, Ky. and Sandra Green (David) Sabatka of Powell, Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Grant (Susan) Stephens, Scott (Esen) Stephens, Alysa (Scott) Miller, Adrea (Chad) LaRoche, Kyle (Lindsey) Sabatka and Lauren Stein; 5 great-grandchildren, Shalyn Miller, Faryn Miller, Cameron Miller, Micah Stein and Yasemin Stephens.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Charles Shields. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
