She was born Jan. 6, 1920, in Durham, N.C. Her husband, Wyman A. Upchurch, preceded her in death. Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland is in charge of private arrangements. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Carillon Assisted Living Activity Fund, 1088 Radio Station Road, Newton, NC 28658. Condolences may be sent to steenfuneralhomes.com.
