Entering into the Pearly gates, in the arms of our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ, Joyce Ann Workman, of Ashland, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at her residence, at the age of 63 after a long battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 14, 1946, to the parents the late Rosa Forbes and Jesse Caudill.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Workman of 48 years. She was a retired business owner of Workman & Sons Plumbing, and KY Hardware & Supply, was a Boyd County deputy constable for 16 years and a member of Blackburn Avenue Baptist Church.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She was a great witness for the Lord and will see her family again one day.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Paula Workman of Ashland; a son John (Leota) Workman of Catlettsburg; four grandchildren, Ashton Rice, and Siarra, Sommer and Steele Workman; one great-granddaughter, Kassidy Bliss Workman; three sisters, Frankie (Ernie) Saferight of Columbus, Ohio, Phyllis Haney of Flatwoods, Ky., and Goldie (Phillip) Smith of Roanoke, Va.; and a special friend, Mary Justice of J & J Restaurant along with her extended family and friends who mourn her death.
Visitation will be today, July 24, 2010 at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland from 5 to 8 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following with Ron Riley and Gary Wurts presiding. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum.
