Virginia Lee Clark Prichard, 80, of Ashland, Ky., passed away Thursday evening, Sept. 30, 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

She was born June 6, 1930, in Ashland, to the late Carter Courtney and Hazel Irene Young Clark. Her loving husband, Carl Ray Prichard, also preceded her in death in 2007.

She was a devoted homemaker. She joined Centenary United Methodist Church on March 17, 1940, and served in the church on Trustees Committee and Pastoral Parish Staff Relations Committee. She was an active Bible school volunteer and nursery supervisor. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women's Circle and the Crusaders Sunday school class the Homemakers Club. She was a Kentucky Colonel.

Surviving are two sons, Carl Randall (Marie) Prichard of Russell, Ky., and William "Bill" Clark Prichard of Fort Thomas, Ky.; a daughter, Debra Lee (Bill) Jones of Ashland, Ky.; two brothers, Donald Milton Clark and special friend Mary Lou Mackebee of Ashland, Ky., and Eugene W. "Jeep"(Mary Alice) Clark of Hattiesburg, Miss.; grandchildren Dustin, Tyler and special friend Bobbi Cornwell and her daughter, Skylar Wilson, and Taylor Jones, Ashley (Aaron) Holland and Sara, Emily, Kerri and Christopher Prichard; and two great-grandchildren, Rylee Prichard and Elijah Payne.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Emerson Clark.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Troy Poff. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 4, 2010, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Jones, Tyler Jones, Christopher Prichard, Aaron Holland, Keith Lyons and Doug George. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Jones, Tim Thirion, Bob Shimer, Ian Cole, David Ventura, David Andrew Trust and Dr. M.H. King.

Friends may make contributions to the Virginia Clark Prichard Memorial Fund, Centenary United Methodist Church, 2901 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
