Thurman Phillip Justice, age 78, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2010 in Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born June 26, 1932, in Varney, Mingo County, W.Va., a son of the late William Smith Justice and Millie Burchett Justice Sherman.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Brewer Justice in 1983; his stepson, Ralph Douglas Justice in 2008; brothers, Johnie Justice and Andrew Jackson Justice; and sisters, Angieline Hinkle, Hulda Hinkle and Nora Hinkle.
He was retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Catherine "Joy" Guitterman of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, William Paris Smith Justice of Ashland; and sisters, Elizabeth Ann Tiller, Ethel Rife and Emma Paige Hinkle, all of Delbarton, W.Va., and Mary Jane (Leon) Daugherty of Chattaroy, W.Va.
He is also survived by a very special nephew, Kenneth Ray Hinkle of Columbus.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Lloyd Bailey. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
