Billy Joe McComas Sr., 76, of Ashland, Ky., died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at his residence. He was born May 14, 1934, in Ashland, Ky., to the late Joe and Ova Griffith McComas. He was a supervisor and manager for Valley Canteen Service. He was also an avid UK fan and a very proud grandfather to his granddaughters.
Surviving are a son, Bill J. McComas Jr. of Ashland; two brothers, Lonnie McComis Sr. of Catlettsburg and Raymond McComas of Flatwoods; a sister, JoAnne Kelley of Ashland; two grandchildren, Alyssa M. McComas and Kelsey B. McComas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call an hour before services Monday at the funeral home.
