Ronald D. Sorrell, 55, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday afternoon, Nov. 29, 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born Dec. 18, 1954, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Barbara Williams Sorrell Johnson of Ashland and the late Andrew J. Sorrell Jr.
He was a 35-year employee of Windstream Communications and a member of Meade Station Church of God and the Communication Workers of America. He was a 1972 graduate of Boyd County High School.
Additional survivors include his wife, Barbara Hill Sorrell of Ashland; daughters Sara Sorrell (James) Rollins, Sammie Sorrell, Heather Johnson, Mandy (James) Fryer and Kaci Nicole Giberson, all of Ashland; sisters Donna Sorrell (Bill) Greene of Ashland and Karen Sorrell of Minford, Ohio; grandchildren Cody Whitt and Jacob, Hannah and Kali Fryer; nephews Steven (Becky) Thompson of Ashland, Trenton and Austin Henson of Minford, Ohio, and Jason Harmon of Ocala, Fla.; nieces Andrea (Michael) Rue of Versailles, Ky., Tracy Salyers of Virginia and Samantha Smith of Williamson, W.Va.; and a host of loving extended family members and friends.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Rob Jordan.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today, Dec. 1, 2010, at the funeral home.
