Dorothy M. Deal, age 80, of Ashland, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011.
She was born July 23, 1930, in Ashland, a daughter of the late George Morman and Lena White Morman Riffe. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather Willard Riffe; brothers, James Sonny Riffe, Millard Riffe and George Riffe; sisters, Roberta Bobbie Bolner, Betty Riffe Adams and Freda Riffe Adams and brothers-in-law, Gene Williams, Don Bolner and Charles Adams.
She was retired from the former Third National Bank in Ashland, of the Baptist faith and a member of Eastern Star and Altrusia Club.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond Pete Deal of Ashland; one daughter, Susan Deal Daniel and her husband Jack of Ashland; brothers, George Morman Jr. of Connecticut, Charles Riffe and wife Leosa of Flatwoods and John Riffe and wife Doris Ann of Flatwoods; sisters, Helen Morman Sutila and husband Mike of Connecticut and Leona Riffe Williams of Flatwoods; grandson, Josh Daniel and wife Megan of Ashland; great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Daniel; sister-in-law, Francis Riffe; brother-in-law, Bill Adams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Dr. Floyd Paris. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
