Darrel Thomas, 39, of Ironton, died March 13, 2011, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.
He was born Oct. 30, 1971, in Ashland, Ky., a son of Charles W. Bill and Dottie L. Wilburn Thomas of Ashland.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles A. Chuck Thomas.
He was manager for the CR Thomas Restaurant in Ironton and Woodys Surfside Cafe in Huntington, W.Va., and property manager for Crown Real Estate in Ironton.
He was a licensed pilot and loved to play the guitar.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Laura Febo Thomas of Ironton; a son, Jared Nathaniel Thomas, at home; a daughter, Leila Ann Thomas, at home; brothers Bob Thomas and wife Nikki of Ironton and Michael Thomas of Ashland; sisters Cheryl Thomas of Flatwoods, Ky., Rhonda Thomas Ferrell of Ironton and Elizabeth Lynn Thomas Christian and husband Mark of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Pat Michael and Pastor Keith Watters. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods, Ky.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 16, 2011, at the funeral home.
