George Marion Clevenger, 85, of Ashland, Kentucky, died at Kings Daughters Medical Center on July 19, 2011. He was born in Leon, Kentucky on April 12, 1926, the son of the late John Quincy and Bertha Lee Huff Clevenger. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Chloe Ann Bledsoe Clevenger in 1969 and a son, Jerry Clevenger. He was a Trucker for 50 years and served in the U.S. Army in WWII and the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by sons, Bob Clevenger (Betty) of Catlettsburg, Ky., Mike Clevenger (Marg) of Ashland, Ky., Terry Clevenger (Donna) of Clermont Co., OH., and John Clevenger (Donna) of Headland, AL.; daughters, Bert Register (Steven) of Headland, AL., Brenda Hutchins (Terry) of Pilot Mountain, NC., and Judy Ard also of Pilot Mountain, NC.; brother, Jim Clevenger (Marie) of Columbus, OH.; a sister Geneva Hall of Ashland, Ky.; Eighteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be determined by the family at a later time. Interment will be at Leon Family Cemetery.
