Robert T. Berry 1930-2011

Robert T. "Bob" Berry passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, while at home, with his son at his side.

Mr. Berry was born in Ashland, a son of the late Ossie and Mary Hatcher Berry. He was preceded in death by a son Robert Jr. in 2001, and his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Lou Berry in 2006.

Mr. Berry graduated from Ashland High School class of 1948, was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, the Ashland Area Emmaus community (#22 Table of Luke), the Northeast Fish and Game Club. He has been a Gideon since 1964. He loved sports, was the Babe Ruth baseball League scorekeeper for several years. He was an active member of the Tri-State area council Boy Scouts of America, and a Brotherhood member of the Thal coo zyo Lodge #457, an honor campers society of the Order of the Arrow, He also enjoyed fishing and golfing

He retired from Armco Steel Company.

He is survived by a son Stephen C. Berry and his wife Pamela of Ashland, two grandsons, one step-grandson, two step-granddaughters, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, August 1, 2011, at Christ United Methodist Church in Ashland by the Rev. Michael McAlister. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 11 AM till 1:00 PM Monday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 2335 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 41101, the Ashland Area Emmaus community, or the Gideon's.
