Sylvia Pennington McDonald, 82, of Cedar Knoll in Ashland, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born March 25, 1929, in Ashland, a daughter of the late William Lewis and Carrie Davis Pennington.
In addition, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Taylor.
She was a former employee of Ashland Oil and a partner of the Ponderosa Golf Course. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Ashland Creative Arts Club.
Surviving are her husband, Donald M. McDonald of Cedar Knoll; one son, Robert F. Taylor and wife Marilyn of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Jill Taylor Warren and husband Joseph T. of Alexandria; two brothers, Richard E. Pennington and wife Sheila of Ashland and Gerald L. Pennington of Lexington; one sister, Clara L. Hodges of Ashland; and four grandchildren, Carrie E. (James) Dressman of Southgate, Daniel R. (Christine) Warren of Southgate, and Joshua R. Taylor and Jeremy C. Taylor, both of Houston.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Troy Poff. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
