Proctor Smith, 79, of Blaine, passed away Sunday, Sept. 25, 2011, at his home.
He was born June 14, 1932, in Morgan County, the son of the late Thomas Nelson and Loule Smith. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Ray, and a brother, Raymond Smith.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was the owner and operator of Smith Septic Cleaning Services.
Proctor is survived by his long-time companion, Roberta Ferguson; two sons, Stacy Smith of Blaine and Jonathan Ferguson of Ashland; two daughters, Jennifer Ferguson of Ashland and Sheila Morrison of Rush; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Juanita Ferguson of Johnstown, Ohio.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at Lewis & Ferguson Funeral Home in Sandy Hook with Brother Denver Ferguson and Brother Roosevelt Fannin officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Stacy Smith, Jonathan Ferguson, Denver Ferguson, Charlie Kirk, Garland Lyons and Brad Wright. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elwood Cantrell and Dave Salyers.
