William W. "Bill" Tussey, 84, of Flatwoods, passed peacefully Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2011 at his residence.
He was born January 15, 1927 in Ashland, Kentucky a son of the late Oscar & Barbara Fraley Tussey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Greer Tussey in 2007 and two sisters, Helen Daniel & Betty Netch.
Bill was retired from Armco Steel after many years of service and belonged to the Ironworkers Local Union 769. He was a graduate of Ashland High School, a Kentucky Colonel, an avid sports fan (especially UK) and was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Lynn B. "L.B." Tussey & his wife Cheryl Hill Tussey of Ashland; a special niece and caregiver, Teresa Lemaster of Colorado; grandchildren, Brandon Tussey & wife Stacy, Chris Hughes, Josh Hughes and Summer Johnson & husband Jeremy; great grandchildren, Hallie, Gracie, Conner, Arianna, Emily & Jazlyn. Additional survivors include a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The funeral service will be 1pm Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with his longtime friend, Suffragan Bishop Elzy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Visitation will be from Noon to 1pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
