1955 - 2011

Karen Sue Ramsdell, 56, of Catlettsburg, died Saturday morning, Dec. 24, 2011, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

She was born May 31, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Jaquetta Hickman Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Deloris Ann Trimper, and her father and mother-in-law, Jim and Helen Ramsdell.

Karen was a member of England Hill Freewill Baptist Church, a graduate of Catlettsburg High School, a member of the England Hill Volunteer Fire Department and had formerly worked for the Boyd County school system.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 36 years, Keith Ramsdell of Catlettsburg; daughter, Erin Ramsdell of Catlettsburg; son, Brian Ramsdell and wife Jessica of Catlettsburg; brother, Pat Hall and wife Ernestine of Owingsville; grandchildren, Braidon Corey, Bryce Ramsdell, Serenity Cordial and one due in April 2012. She is also survived by two special friends, Brenda Rucker and Hope Lemaster and a host of loving family members and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at England Hill Freewill Baptist Church by Pastor Willie May. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 26, 2011, at the church.

Contributions in Karens memory may be made to England Hill Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund, 10201 Mayo Trail, Catlettsburg, KY 41129.
