1982 - 2012

Jeremiah David Wilks, 29, of Catlettsburg died Wednesday evening, February 29, 2012 following an automobile accident.

He was born April 17, 1982 in Huntington, WV, a son of Cecil & Faith Lyons Wilks of Ceredo, WV.

Jeremiah was an electrician with IBEW Local 317 in Huntington, attended Meade Station Church of God, was a 2000 Graduate of Spring Valley High School and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a devoted husband, father and son who will long be remembered for his kindness to others and his mischievous sense of humor.

He proudly served his country as Staff Sargent in the 396th Engineer Company and was deployed to Iraq in 2003. He was devoted to his country and was very outspoken about buying "American Made".

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Indi Miller Wilks of Catlettsburg; sons, Gatlin Riley Wilks & Mason Owen Wilks both at home; sister, Rebecca Caldwell and husband Michael of Milton, WV; paternal grandmother, Cleta Wilks of Ceredo, WV; brother in law, Zachary Miller and wife Amber of Ashland; sister in law, Miranda Miller of Ashland; mother in law, Lisa Crase and husband Ben of Ashland; father in law, Jerry Miller and wife Missy of Ashland; niece, Cadence Nicole Caldwell; nephews, Evan Jasper Caldwell and Sawyer Miller; a lifelong friend, Jerry Lee Sutton and his family of Kenova, WV and countless other loving extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Mike Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Gatlin and Mason Wilks Trust Fund, c/o Citizens National Bank, 855 Central Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101.
