Douglas M. Allen Douglas Mickey Allen, 70, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Ashland, returned to his eternal home on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 22, 1942, in Grand Rapids, Mich., a son of the late Charles Albert Sye Allen I and Merle Hanson Allen. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Allen.

He was the president and CEO of Tri-State Wilbert Vault Co. and Allen Enterprises in Ironton, Ohio. He previously worked for the Champion Co. in Springfield, Ohio, as sales manager.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Gretchen Roth Allen; sons Charles Albert (Emily) Allen II and Douglas Mickey Allen II; daughters Kim Anderson, Sandi Allen (Kevin) Hill, Sheri (Brett) Henry, Shirley Allen and Micki Kay (Dan) Carmichael; a sister, Dixie Nelson; grandchildren Wade Nickell, Rachael Hill, Avery Henry, Charles Robert Anderson, Elaina Anderson, Bridget Anderson, Gordon Anderson, Wyatt Toller, Hannah Allen and Sofia Allen-Cook; and a great-grandchild, Charlotte Nickell.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Holy Family Church in Ashland by Father John Noe. The body will lie in state an hour before services Saturday at the church. A Christian burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland, where a Scripture service will be at 7:30 p.m.
