Jason David VanHoose, 34, of Catlettsburg, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, in the Grandstrand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
He was born July 25, 1978, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of David and Pamela Stevens VanHoose of Catlettsburg.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William C. Stevens Sr.
Jason was a 1997 graduate of Boyd County High School. He attended Morehead State University and Ashland Community College. He was of the Baptist Faith and loved the outdoors and his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In March, he realized his lifelong dream of living at the beach, when he moved to Myrtle Beach, S.C. While there he worked for Harley Davidson and Michelin Tires.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Carrie Anna VanHoose of Catlettsburg; paternal grandparents, Lofty Jr. and Willie Faye VanHoose of Ashland; maternal grandmother, Violet Jean Stevens Bullion and her husband, John, of Ashland; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel in Ashland with Pastor Mike Rice officiating. Burial will be in Edward Davis Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the funeral home.
