Roger Dean Caskey, 65, of Ironville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2013, in the VA Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
He was born Feb. 14, 1948, in Ashland, a son of the late Arbie and Verna Gross Caskey.
He retired after many years of service at Caskey Roofing. He loved playing music and was an avid football fan, but most importantly, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Roger honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Roland Caskey of Ironville; son Kevin Caskey and wife Ashley of Ashland; daughters Tabitha Caskey of Denver, Colo., Heather Deskins and husband Bryon of Cardington, Ohio, and Brittany Varney and husband Scotty of Ashland; brothers Herman Caskey and wife Carolyn of Ashland, Raymond Caskey and wife Phyllis of California and Charles Branham of Tennessee; grandchildren Kaleb Caskey, Khloe Caskey, Bryan Wilburn, Shaylyn Varney, Jordan Deskins, Bryonna Deskins, Steven Caskey and Ashley Nichole Renee McKenzie; and a great-grandson, Bo Caskey.
There will be memorial visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland.
