Ivan Earl Jock Kouns, 84, of Ashland, passed away Saturday evening, May 10, 2014, in Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born June 24, 1929, in Ashland, a son of the late Edgar and Margaret Farmer Kouns.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, William L. Joner, Paul E. and Melvin Ray Kouns.
Jock was a graduate of Ashland High School and was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 350 in Ashland. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed working in his yard and spending time with his family. He retired after many years of service from Goodyear Atomic Energy in Piketon, Ohio.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Wanda Kouns of Ashland; a son, Rick (Laura) Kouns of Round Rock, Texas; daughters Kim Sutton of Ashland and Heather (Mark) McDonald of Richmond; a sister, Barbara Waginger of Ironton, Ohio; and grandchildren Madison, Brendan and Connor Kouns, Chelsea, Jessica and Tyler Sutton and Austin and Logan McDonald.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Sharon McDonald. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call after noon Thursday, at the funeral home.
