Doris Anderson Legg, 90, of Ashland, passed away Monday morning, May 12, 2014, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
She was born May 9, 1924, in Charleston, W.Va., a daughter of the late Gustave Adolphus and Carrie Elizabeth Campbell Anderson.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Raymond Murphy Legg, in 2012.
Doris was a member of Old Orchard Christian Church and earned a bachelors degree in chemistry and biology from Morris Harvey College in 1945. She was a lifelong homemaker and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick (Janet) Legg of Stuart, Fla., and Raymond Legg Jr. of Gloucester, Va.; two daughters, Elizabeth (Merv) Lewis and Rebecca Wilson, both of Ashland; a brother, John E. (Carolyn) Anderson of Fort Pierce, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastors William Kennedy and Joey Kennedy. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
