Donald Ray Whitley Sr., 53, of Lexington, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at his residence following a brief illness.
Mr. Whitley was born in Coal Grove on July 20, 1948, the son of the late Donald H. and Ruth Brammer Whitley.
He was a truck driver with Hinkle Construction, a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and a member of the American Legion Post No. 76.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Whitley.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lester Whitley; three sons, Donald Ray Whitley Jr. of Ironton, Marc Allen Whitley of Ashland and David Shane Whitley of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Steen Funeral Home Marshall Steen Chapel with the Rev. Bob Queen officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
A military service will be conducted by the Ironton VFW No. 8850.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
