George A. Cook, 73, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002, in Wurtland Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Cook was born June 25, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y., a son of the late George A. Sr. and Helen Moran Cook.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond George Cook and James Daniel Cook.
He was retired district manager of Branded Marketing with Ashland Oil with 45 years of service. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and was a member of the 8221 First Army Unit.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Sullivan Cook; a daughter, Kathleen Ann Cook of Ashland; and two sisters, Mary Irene Cousins of Pendleton, N.Y., and Mrs. Margaret (John) McGrath of Orchard Park, N.Y.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church by Father John Noe. Burial will be in Good Shepard Cemetery in Pendleton.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
