Charles M. Hood, 90, of Ashland died Friday, Sept. 20, at Lexington County Place in Lexington.
Mr. Hood was born May 27, 1912, in Ashland, the son of the late Lon C. and Pearl Darby Hood.
He was the husband of the late Minnie A. Mulholland Hood, who died in 1991.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Sue Hood.
He was a graduate of Georgetown College, where he was a member of the football team; retired from Ashland Inc. with 35 years of service; and a member of Holy Family Church. He also taught in the Ashland school system.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Judge Joseph M. Hood and Carol of Lexington and William R. Hood and Cathy of Russell; two daughters and one son-in-law, Katherine Hood Starkey and Neil of Lexington and Ann Hood Kimbel of Dunwoody, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Olive Caines of Ashland and Bess Lambert of Louisville; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Church, with Father James Sichko officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call 9:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
