Mayme Botts Thomas, 81, of Ashland, Ky., died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002, in Mt. Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Mrs. Thomas was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Mt. Sterling, Ky., a daughter of the late Lewis and Betty Gatewood Botts.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther E. Thomas; and a daughter, Betty Bell.
She was retired from the housekeeping department of Kentucky Power. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she was a former usher and board member. She was a graduate of City and County School in Mt. Sterling.
Surviving are a daughter, Anna Mae Pleasant of Columbus; a sister, Daisy Marshall of Sharpsburg, Ky.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Steen Funeral Home-Marshall Steen Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Henry Mosley. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call after noon Thursday at the funeral home.
