Dan Wysong was a dear Christian friend and brother. As his pastor for almost 8 years exactly, I saw him and his family through some wonderfully joyful-- as well as sad times. He was especially interested in developing his spiritual life, and a newly found interest in preaching and leading worship. I am so sorry that desire was cut short. Yet, I know at the end he was reconciled -- and more than anything else sought reconciliation. Inviting me back to take part in his memorial was just another act of reconciliation, and I was deeply moved by it, as were the church people. I always enjoyed the repartee with Dan --whether in a study session or one-on-one over coffee. He was sharp, and I profited from his wise insights. I continue to miss him; may God bless you with comfort and peace is my prayer.

Dear Mrs. Wysong and Family, I am so saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Wysong. My wife, Karen, enjoyed teaching with him at Rose Hill and, since both were retired from public schools, they had a special friendship. My daughter, Mary Beth, loved Mr. Wysong and her relationship with him was very special. Mr. Wysong had, and will continue to have, a great influence on her life. I think he was pleased that she transferred to Marshall and still continues her study of Spanish. I will be forever grateful because he made it possible for Mary Beth to receive a Commonwealth Diploma. Without him at Rose Hill, that would not have been possible. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Please remember that, though we trust that he is in a better place, Daniel Wysong will continue to live on this earth, not only through his family, but also through the hearts and minds of the many students he influenced in such positive ways through the years. Mrs. Wysong, I feel sure that the schools in Heaven are much stronger academically in both Spanish and English by the addition to the faculty of your Daniel and my Karen.
