Orban Pete Triplett, 86, of 816 Windsor Ct., Ashland, Ky., died Friday, Dec. 6, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mr. Triplett was born June 23, 1916 in Louisa, Ky., a son of the late William and Dora Woodrum Triplett.
He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #198 F & AM of Ironton, Ohio, and a member of the V.F.W. Legion of Ironton. He was a former employee of Ashland Oil, Inc., he served in World War II as a Master Sergeant in the Marine Corps where he received a Silver Star medal in Guadalcanal.
Mr. Triplett is survived by his wife, Evelyn Reeves Triplett; one son, Dr. Wayne Triplett of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Carlene Triplett of New York, N.Y., and Roberta Cook of Asheville, N.C.; two brothers, Merrell Triplett and Earl Triplett, both of Ironton, Ohio; four sisters, Reba Depriest, Evelyn Rogers, and Myrtle Smith all of Ironton and Mary Lou Rogers of Wheelersburg, Ohio; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel by the Rev. Joed Rice. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call noon until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.
