Virginia Stevens

Virginia Irene Blevins Stevens, 85, of Unity Square, Ashland, Ky., died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Stevens was born April 23, 1918, in Oak Hill, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lewis and Sarah Jacobs Blevins.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Stevens, in 1990; five brothers, Bert Blevins, John Blevins, Clarence Blevins, Lewis Blevins, and Carl Blevins; and a sister, Lucille Wallace.
She was an employee of Clayton Lambert & Sylvania during World War II and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Ashland.
Surviving are a nephew, Robert Blevins and his wife, Bonnie, of Raceland, Ky., who cared for her for many years; many nieces and nephews, including Anna Adkins of Bellefonte, Ky., who was raised as her sister, and Doris Shelton Hendeles of Lexington, Ky., a very dear niece; a brother, Gomer Blevins and his wife, Catherine, of Flatwoods, Ky.; and a sister, Harriett Blevins Wheeler and her husband, Ralph, of Haverhill, Ohio.
The funeral will be held at noon Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Central Baptist Church in Ashland by the Rev. Joed Rice. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight, May 6, 2003, at Steen Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
